1966 Ford Mustang Brian from Washington

This car has been in Brian’s family for 45 years. It was originally his mother’s car, which she called the “Golden Coat.” The car was purchased in Seattle and came with the original factory invoice and sticker — even the original business card of the salesperson! Brian has owned it since she passed away five years ago. Back in the 1960s and ’70s, he and his sister rode in the back of the car during road rallies (the Mustang used to have a roll bar, hood scoop and wider tires). In 2009, the family’s prized pony car received a ground-up restoration to original condition (even the 8-Track Player works), which Brian thinks his mom would have been very proud of, although she never had the chance to see it. The Mustang won second place at last summer’s Island County Mustang Club, beating out 200-plus other cars.

I have been working at Hagerty for 11 years. I was born and raised in Michigan, and I’m proud to call Traverse City home — the location of Hagerty, headquartered here in TC is such a plus because I love the area and working here! My favorite car is the ’55 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster.
