Jim recently attended his nephew's wedding and was struck by the father of the bride's classic 1957 Olds Starfire 98. He was impressed with its condition and casually mentioned to his wife, Kristine, that he wouldn't mind having a car like that someday. On October 19th, Jim was out celebrating his birthday and stopped by his sister's house. Lo and behold, that same 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 was sitting in her driveway with a huge bow atop it. Kristine had surprised him with "the best birthday present of all time." Much to Jim's amazement, the car is in running condition and just needs some minor fixes. The history of the car revealed that Jim is only the third owner, and the car is still in its stock original, unmodified condition. Jim has also learned who the original owner is and plans to contact him in the near future to hear some of the old stories that involve the car. Jim can't wait to get the car in peak running condition so that he can enjoy his birthday gift to the fullest.
I was born and raised in Traverse City and have been surrounded by cars all of my life. I have always loved old cars, no matter what kind they are. I have worked at Hagerty for almost 5 years now. I love spending time with my husband and 2 year old son. My favorite classic car is a 1967 Ford Mustang, but if I had a chance to have any classic, I would act on it.
