1969 Dodge Charger R/T Mark from Michigan

Mark is a lifelong Mopar fan and proud owner of two 1969 Charger R/T’s. Mark purchased his first Charger in 1992 for $3500. It was a project car that had a blown engine, but good bones, numbers matching, and the 4-speed and 440 Magnum that Mark had been looking for. With help from family and friends, Mark completed an 18-year Concours-level full restoration, painting the car a beautiful R4 red.

After the full restoration – disaster. In August of 2016, Mark was out for a drive, when a pickup truck crossed a double-yellow line trying to pass a semi and crashed into Mark, totaling out the Charger. Mark decided to keep his car and repair it. Mark contacted Nyle Wing in Ionia, Michigan, to repair the car. Nyle’s shop is known for its Concours restorations. A writer from Hemmings got wind of the story, and the project was featured in Hemmings Magazine detailing the installation of the vinyl top and will have another feature, “Wreck Repair” in June this year about bringing this beautiful car back to #1 condition.

Mark is now back to his Concours level condition, and back to winning awards. Mark’s Charger won multiple awards at the Mopar 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Charger at the Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills. He’s looking forward to many more years of shows and cruises.
