Stephen is the proud owner of a 1967 Pontiac Firebird. During a terrible snowstorm on the East Coast, with predictions of up to 3 feet of snow, the power went out in Stephen’s home. Stephen and his wife were sleeping by their fireplace on the floor when they were awakened to the sound of a smoke alarm and found the room filled with smoke. They grabbed their dog, went to the neighbor’s house and called 911. Steve ran back to the house, which by then was engulfed in flames. He opened the garage door and went into the burning garage to save his classic Firebird. He was able to back it out into the driveway, but no further due to all the snow — even the fire department had a difficult time responding and the house burnt to the ground. The couple was able to save their own lives, their dog and their classic car. Even though the car was saved, it suffered smoke and water damage.
We took care of the claim and felt honored when Stephen told us he got his entire car club to switch to Hagerty. In what's got to be a rough time, we hope having the Firebird selected as Classic of the Week provides a bright spot.
I have lived in Traverse City my entire life. I attended MSU, and after retiring from the school system I came to work for Hagerty. I live with my husband, and two dogs and have two grown children. I enjoy travel, movies, dining out, crossword puzzles, watercolor painting, the beach in the summer, and snowshoeing in the winter.
